For fifteen years, this was where I wrote about eating alone and traveling alone, and where I slowly learned to like both.
Then it became a book.

In 2026, fifteen years of tables for one became Eating Adverbs: A Recipe for Living Fully, Boldly, and Unapologetically. It’s a memoir about what I figured out at all those tables. I learned to enjoy my own company, and to order the good bottle without waiting for an occasion to justify it. Somewhere in there I also stopped apologizing for asking for a table for one.
Table for One didn’t disappear, but it did move.
The weekly writing now lives at Eating Adverbs on Substack.
Daily food posts continue on Instagram, still under the ‘Table for One, Please’ banner.
And the wine side of the story is becoming Solo Sips on YouTube.
I haven’t disappeared – I’ve just moved!
And, as always, I will remain . . .
